You know whats even worse is that some retail stores had Christmas stuff in the stock room two weeks before Halloween. Then some of those stores even had some of their stuff out a week before Halloween was here. Now it's in full force before T-day. Being a holiday traditionalist for those that are is getting harder every year. However, now marketing gurus seem to have for gotten about it (though they probably haven't) and focus more on other holidays. Wikipedia has an extensive write up about Thanksgiving and in it says that the Friday after is an "unofficial holiday Black Friday, the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season."

Family friends have already sent out Christmas cards. Give me a break...
Lots of folks buy holiday gifts early because of the expense, but the decorations, lights, and cards should wait until after Thanksgiving!

I received my first Christmas card by mail yesterday from someone who lives about 30 minutes away from me. It really surprises me how early everything seems to be happening this year.
