Tuesday Morning I was reminded the Chicago Bulls were in town when a few of them, including Ben Wallace, Andre Nocioni, and Joe Smith, came into my store for coffee and breakfast. You don't realize just how tall those guys are until they are 2 feet away from you! Even though I am a die hard loyal Blazer fan I will say that everyone associated with the Bulls (probably 10 or so) which I encountered in the two days they were in town were extremely nice. Decent tippers as well. All of the buzz around the office building where I work about the game was really making me want to go. The game was a Wednesday night, and a last minute thought on my part... and just that, a thought. Later that morning I was chatting with a regular customer, also a season ticket holder. Not feeling up to going to that night's game, and to my surprise, he offered me his ticket. Shocked I accepted, and with in 30 seconds the ticket was out of his wallet and my hands. I don't know if it was the power of positive thinking or what, but wow! That's the best tip I ever got for pouring someone coffee everyday! Then, after the shock, I realized I had just accepter a ticket, one single ticket. I had never been to an event like a Blazer game by myself. I made a few attempts at friends to get tickets last minute. With no takers, I went alone. It was amazing. It was a great seat facing our bench. I hadn't sat that close in quite a while, it was a nice change. The game was close, tight, but The Blazers managed to hang on to the lead. At the end of regulation Blazers 98 Bulls 97, but wait, there was a foul! After a bit of debate on the floor and a replay review, .05 was back on the clock and B Roy to shoot 2! The crowd on their feet cheering him on as the Chalupa chant started. Cha - lu -pa.... cha - lu- pa.... swish ....cha - lu - pa.... cha - lu - pa.... swish! Blazers win with a little icing on the cake for the Portland fans.
