as I watered my little patio garden this afternoon I noticed something surprising. Just off my patio, actually right outside my bedroom window, someone had thrown a pair of boxers two stories up and got them to stick! Totally random! And now I have someones boxers outside my window!

this is my new maple tree starter! It is growing so fast, I have only had it about a month and already it is over a foot tall! It would make an excellent bonsai, however I'm going to see how big it gets!

well the aphid spray worked, however it did end up doing some damage to my plants. It's hard to say if the damage caused is because of the spray or the aphids. Probably a combination of the two. All of the pests (insect wise) that I had problems with disappeared after one spray, so I would say I definitely got my moneys worth. I see new growth coming from the damage, so I have hope for my plants! For the second time this year a bird's egg has been found on my second story patio in one of my planters. The first time occurred on April 14th when a friend noticed the egg and nest in my parsley plant. Back then I took some photos of the miniature egg, about an inch long, maybe a little more, and eventually a bird came around and was seen sitting on it off and on for about 3 days.

Over the course of the summer the aphid population on my patio has grown a ridiculous amount! At first there were just a few on a mini rose bush. Then when I noticed they had spread to a Euphorbia I went and got a package of 1500 live lady bugs. That worked for about a day! I watched as the lady bugs devoured aphid after aphid but still didn't do enough! So, no this is not on my patio! However it is this amazing wall of Oregon Grape that is in bloom across the street from me! It being the state flower and all I felt the need to share this awsome plant! The leaves look almost like holly leaves, and the "grapes&qu  ot; or "flowers&q  uot; look a lot like blueberries! But don't eat! They are yucky and poisonous to some animals.

This miniature pine tree is starting to flower for the summer. Hard to tell in this picture but there are 3 spots that have tiny white flower starts. The tag deion says young plants resemble conifers and are perfect for mini landscapes; creamy white flowers appear in summer.

avacado seed is rooting! In a few weeks I can hopefully plant it! These take so long to develop but they are such cool plants!

so this is an up close look at what I originally thought were worms, but now I'm pretty darn sure they are NOT! Worms don't look like this! But really I cant figure out what they are or why they are in my plant!! HELP!

when shamrocks are "sleeping&  quot; for the night its a good time to mist them. It's always a good idea with these plants to mist their stems and the base of the stems at the dirt, trying to avoid their leaves.
