I'll tell you how amazing the Chile Variado bar at Moonstruck Cafe is: TO DIE FOR!!! Dark, bittersweet chocolate spiced up with some smoky chipotle and ancho chile powders. Tell me that isn't a tongue-gasm waiting to happen!

Located at 1002 SE Powell, on the east side of the Ross Island bridge, this 50 year old mainstay of Portland is something to behold. It's not far from anywhere. Whether you go at 10am on the weekend or 10pm on a weeknight, this space is the place to stuff your face. (I don't know if that sounds dumb or not, so don't ignore it for now.) One of the many things I love about spoons is that you can get your favorite salad made into a wrap. So perfect and convenient if your in a hurry. My favorite right now is the seasonal with strawberries and feta.

This little Chocolate Lab contains extra bittersweet ganache wrapped in dark chocolate, with almond ears and puppy-dog eyes. It's so wonderful paired with a cup of drip coffee. It goes quite well with it's friend the Ivory cat also.

the McMenamin's Blue Moon on 21st and Glisan has the best greyhound that I have ever found. The use nothing but vodka and a whole fresh squeezed grapefruit. It tastes just like you stuck a straw in the fruit and started sucking. Refreshing and delicious!

Muu Muu's has fantastic pepper shakers! For those of you who love pepper the way that I LOVE pepper you know how important it is to have a shaker that shakes out enough at once! It's always really disappointing to go somewhere where you have to take off the lid to get enough! This is never the case at the muu!
